Oakland Style Lab is a sustainable fashion education program and community cultural hub dedicated to building a more inclusive and resilient fashion ecosystem in the Bay Area. Founded in 2021 by Olivia Cueva and Jeff Perlstein, the Lab offers hands-on fashion education for youth, operates Sole Space Lab—a sneaker regeneration and upcycling studio—produces the fashion show at Oakland Style Week, and hosts regular mixers and networking events to strengthen Oakland’s creative community.

Since 2023, I’ve lead our youth education program teaching students how to reduce textile waste pollution through fashion upcycling and sewing.
